Job Purpose
Air Arabia is hiring a Battery Shop Technician to perform and supervise maintenance, inspection, and repair tasks on aircraft batteries. This role supports both Air Arabia and third-party aircraft in line with safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure battery stock is up to date, compatible, and ready for use
- Review task cards with the Workshop Supervisor before starting work
- Perform scheduled maintenance on batteries as per assigned work cards
- Conduct battery inspections, testing, and repairs according to regulations
- Troubleshoot and rectify defects using approved data and procedures
- Sign off completed maintenance tasks within authorized scope
- Coordinate with engineers and technicians for smooth workflow
- Liaise with Technical Buyer to manage timely part replacements
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all published safety precautions and use proper PPE and tools
- Prevent work interruptions and ensure safe task handovers
- Maintain professional communication with internal teams and flight crew
- Present a reliable and technically competent image to clients and partners
Cost Control & Efficiency
- Minimize waste and prevent unnecessary part replacements
- Use time and materials efficiently to reduce maintenance costs
- Avoid repeat work through attention to detail and quality standards
Qualifications
- Aeronautical diploma or equivalent in relevant engineering field
- Maintenance license and/or approvals for Airbus A320 components preferred
- Eligible for UAE GCAA CAR 66 License
- Good English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)
- UAE Driver’s License or ability to obtain one
Experience Required
- 2+ years in a workshop maintenance role
- Specific experience in aircraft battery maintenance, preferably on Airbus types
- 2+ years’ experience in a Base Maintenance environment
