About the Role: Buying Officer – Food and Beverage

As a Buying Officer – Food and Beverage, you will manage a portfolio of F&B brands and vendors, ensuring product sourcing, negotiations, and inventory meet business goals. You’ll work with international and local suppliers, launching new products, planning promotions, and driving profitability through strategic buying decisions.

This role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and market awareness to ensure Qatar Duty Free offers the best value, selection, and pricing for its customers.

Key Responsibilities

As a Buying Officer – Food and Beverage, your duties will include:

Negotiating pricing, terms, and marketing support with global and local suppliers.
Coordinating new product launches and promotional campaigns.
Analyzing stock levels, sales trends, and markup to optimize product selection and pricing.
Visiting F&B outlets and warehouses to monitor physical stock and ensure operational efficiency.
Reviewing product performance regularly and de-listing slow movers to maintain optimal stock levels.
Managing logistics to reduce costs and ensure timely delivery, including customs and freight coordination.
Conducting market and competitor analysis to maintain a 5-star retail experience.
Maintaining updated supplier files and overseeing ERP entries for new or modified vendors.
Arranging product training sessions for team members.
Handling discrepancy reports and ensuring supplier communication for order accuracy.

Your expertise will help streamline operations, reduce costs, and elevate the customer experience across Qatar Duty Free’s F&B offerings.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for the Buying Officer – Food and Beverage role, you should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Retail, Marketing, or Business Administration.
At least 4 years of relevant buying experience, preferably in FMCG.
Strong knowledge of the F&B industry and product trends.
Excellent negotiation, planning, and project management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and supplier management tools.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Analytical mindset with creative problem-solving abilities.
Experience coordinating with freight and customs for international deliveries.
