Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will take full ownership of IT asset and license management across the organization. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of software and hardware assets
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and vendor agreements
- Maintain accurate asset records and license tracking
- Manage software renewals and asset disposal processes
- Conduct regular audits to avoid license violations
- Optimize licenses to reduce unused or redundant purchases
- Monitor asset-related costs and report to the finance team
- Improve Software Asset Management (SAM) strategies
- Collaborate with IT, legal, security, and procurement teams
- Provide training and support on asset best practices
- Handle end-of-life asset planning and replacement
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and tools
Skills and Tools Required
To be successful in this role, the candidate should be hands-on with the following tools and systems:
Asset Management Tools
ServiceNow, Ivanti, Asset Panda
License Management Platforms
Flexera, Snow Software, ManageEngine
Inventory Tracking Systems
Excel, ServiceNow, Spiceworks
Compliance and Auditing Tools
Tools to ensure software and hardware compliance with licensing laws
Reporting and Analytics
Excel, Power BI, Tableau for license and asset metrics
Vendor and Cost Management
Strong vendor coordination and contract negotiation skills
Other Requirements
Knowledge of ITIL framework
Understanding of IT asset lifecycle – from purchase to disposal
Strong financial analysis skills related to assets
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field
- Master’s degree is preferred
Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in IT asset or license management
- Strong coordination and audit capabilities
