Main Objective of the Role
As the Financial Controller, you will manage and control all financial activities at the station. You will oversee revenue, expenditure, payroll, general ledger, receivables, taxation, and banking functions while ensuring compliance with company policies and local laws.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead a team and ensure financial accuracy, operational compliance, and cost efficiency. Main responsibilities include:
Accounting and Records
- Manage financial accounting, reporting, and documentation
- Maintain ledgers, bank records, payrolls, invoices, receipts, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely recording and easy access to all financial data
- Improve and simplify existing systems and processes
Expenditure Management
- Prepare and control station-level budgets
- Monitor petty cash, payroll, and staff claims
- Ensure contract payments are aligned with service quality and terms
- Maintain proper balance in disbursement accounts and prevent fund mismanagement
Revenue and Credit Control
- Oversee sales collections and ensure timely fund repatriation
- Reconcile bank statements, sales, and refund reports
- Follow up with agents, GSAs, and BSP for outstanding payments
- Monitor receivables, manage ADMs, and ensure recovery of dues
- Respond to agent queries related to finance and enforce reporting standards
Liaison and Compliance
- Work with auditors, legal teams, and government tax authorities
- Attend BAR and BSP meetings to represent the company
- Track legal updates affecting accounting and operations
- Ensure full compliance with local financial regulations
Staff Supervision and Development
- Evaluate and guide subordinates
- Provide training and performance feedback
- Motivate and manage the finance team to meet corporate standards
Business Support and Miscellaneous
- Support other departments with accurate financial insights
- Travel to other stations as needed for audits and financial reviews
- Handle other duties assigned by management
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, CMA, or CFA)
- Excellent accounting and reporting skills
- Strong command of English (spoken and written)
- Able to produce detailed and concise financial reports
Experience Required
- 5–7 years in a similar finance role
- Airline industry experience in revenue and expenditure accounting is preferred
