Main Role Objectives
As an Airport Duty Officer, you will manage all passenger handling areas. Your focus will be to ensure safe, secure, and seamless airport operations while delivering exceptional service at every step.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will cover multiple operational aspects, including:
- Supervise check-in, departure, transit, and arrival handling
- Ensure timely and accurate actions by Gulf Air and handling agent staff
- Assign pre-flight duties and conduct post-flight briefings
- Guide staff in handling document issues, irregularities, or excess baggage
- Manage denied boarding cases and passenger offloads
- Coordinate closely with immigration, customs, security, and other airport stakeholders
- Ensure delayed passengers receive assistance in line with policy
- Monitor and manage baggage handling processes
- Maintain uniform standards and supervise supplies like stationeries
- Deliver VIP and special assistance handling in lounges and terminals
- Monitor ramp operations and report issues to the Airport Manager
- Review ground safety reports (GSRs) and take action as needed
- Ensure proper updates of VCRS (Virtual Coupon Records) in case of rerouting
- Liaise with catering units and prevent over-catering waste
- Encourage ancillary service sales by ground handling agents
- Report daily ground handling shortfalls to the Duty or Airport Manager
Qualifications and Education
- Minimum Education: OND or equivalent
- Strong communication and leadership skills are essential
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in airport or ground operations
- Experience in managing airport staff and customer-facing teams preferred
