The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is hiring a Specialist – Data Analyst in the Statistics & Data Analysis unit. This full-time opportunity is based in Dubai and requires deep experience in transportation modeling, real-time data analysis, and advanced analytics to support the Enterprise Command & Control Department. Job Purpose
The role focuses on supporting RTA’s transportation data analytics and modeling initiatives. You will extract valuable insights from complex datasets, develop real-time models, and create dynamic dashboards that improve operational efficiency and intermodal connectivity across Dubai’s transport network.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to classify, integrate, and fuse data from multiple transportation sources
- Create enriched datasets for high-accuracy transportation analysis
- Incorporate real-time data from multiple transport modes to improve intermodal performance
- Conduct traffic engineering and transportation modeling tasks, including calibration, forecasting, and scenario testing
- Analyze the reliability of model outputs using sensitivity and uncertainty assessments
- Use KPIs like travel times, delays, and average speeds to generate actionable reports
- Perform statistical, spatial, and data modeling analyses for multi-modal transportation insights
- Validate transportation model predictions using real-world data
- Contribute to policies, technical documents, and standard procedures in collaboration with stakeholders
- Design data-driven use cases to enhance road and transport mode efficiency
- Conduct workshops and induction sessions to support knowledge sharing and training
- Perform other duties as assigned by your Line Manager or Department Director
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or Transportation Planning
- OR Master’s in Computer Science, Applied Math, or Data Science preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in transportation industry including hands-on modeling and machine learning techniques
- Proficient in statistical analysis, machine learning, and transportation modeling tools
- Experience with large datasets and platforms such as SQL, NoSQL, and big data environments
- Skilled in spatial data analysis using tools like QGIS or GIS
Technical Competencies
- Stakeholder management and coordination

- Administrative support related to technical documentation
- Advanced knowledge of data visualization and modeling software
- Familiarity with real-time transportation modeling tools and predictive analytics
