Job Purpose
Air Arabia is hiring a Wheel & Brake Engineer to perform and certify wheel and brake maintenance on its fleet and third-party aircraft. This role ensures all maintenance tasks meet Air Arabia standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure wheel and brake stock is available, serviceable, and compliant
- Review task cards and prepare for maintenance work in coordination with Workshop Supervisor
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs for wheels and brakes
- Conduct inspections, testing, and defect rectification following approved procedures
- Sign off maintenance tasks within authorized scope after completion
- Communicate with engineers and technicians to ensure workflow continuity
- Coordinate with the Technical Buyer to manage timely part replacement
- Maintain records of tasks, tools, and materials used
- Minimize wastage and avoid repeat work to ensure cost-effective maintenance
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all mandatory safety precautions and use appropriate tools and PPE
- Manage human factors during maintenance to prevent task interruptions
- Ensure high housekeeping standards during and after task execution
Teamwork & Representation
- Support internal teams with technical advice and solutions
- Supervise technicians, providing clear direction and task briefings
- Represent Air Arabia professionally to clients, crew, and third-party partners
Qualifications
- Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent
- Valid or previously held Aircraft Maintenance License (Airbus A320 preferred)
- Eligible for unrestricted GCAA CAR 66 License
- Proficient in English for technical communication
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and digital maintenance tools
- Able to obtain UAE Driver’s License
Experience Required
- 5+ years in Base Maintenance roles
- 2+ years certifying maintenance on Airbus A320 aircraft
- Strong knowledge of wheel and brake systems
- Hands-on experience in a workshop environment
